SM: When you can find your personal bearings, know your values, and develop a keen eye for the events and trends that shape the future of your business, your power as a leader is enhanced. Temperaments and leadership styles differ. Knowing how you are wired, why you want to lead, andwhat is possible when you become intentional matters. KM: To the individuals selecting their employees who attend: Select fast, invest big. Youmust secure your talent or someone else will. To the Participants: An investment in yourself NEVER stops growing and NEVER stops giving. WHAT ISYOUR GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT FROM YOUR EXPERIENCE AS A FACILITATOR? CC: Running into past participants months or even years after graduating and hearing how something they took way fromone of my sessions has helped them, is incredibly satisfying. JF: Seeing those we’ve taught come back and join us on the LWC Committee and commit somuch of their own time to the success of the program, because they got somuch out of it personally. SM: Seeing the joy of discovery with each new cohort is a kick. It is a high honor to share what I have learned and to continue learning fromall who step forward. Our business community benefits in a multitude of ways from this process. KM: Hands down, the smiles. The huge smiles after individuals put the pieces of who they are together and understand and respect who they are. There is no one else like them! Althoughmy transition to Habitat was a shift, it has been a great fit. My role allows me to lead a teamof employees and volunteers while also giving back to the community. During the last 10 weeks, I have learned somany things fromLeadershipWaukesha County. Fromknowing how to build a great team to understanding things about myself personally, I've learned that in order to become a great leader you need to hold yourself accountable. I've also learned how to set clear expectations and boundaries with teammembers. My advice to anyone interested in pursuing LWC is to invest in yourself. You will gain something new fromeach of the sessions (trust, decisionmaking, accountability and somuchmore). Completing LWC (as the first ever fully virtual class) has been a huge accomplishment for me. From start to finish, each session was amazing and engaging. I can't thank the Alliance enough for offering this program to shape future leaders in our community.
