moved into our new office in Waukesha. Oh – and by the way, we have been a part of some really great projects like Connoils, Liberty Dance, Starbucks (Greenfield) and Eagle Park Brewing. Q: How has theWaukesha County Business Alliance supported your business? A: The Waukesha County Business Alliance has helped us grow our firm in many ways. Through the Alliance, I have made connections with great business partners and clients, received business coaching and advice, and grown overall brand awareness. The Alliance has played a major role in our success and growth. Q: What has been the most surprsing part of the new business process? A: I am continually amazed by how giving and caring people are. When you start from scratch you need people and opportunity without being able to give a lot in return. Great people and organizations from every walk of life have given me opportunities that I will never be able to repay. For those opportunities I am truly grateful. Q: What is something you know now that you wish you would have known when you started? A: No one has all the answers. No one accomplishes anything without the help of others, without hard work and without stress. As I’ve grown as a professional, I’ve come to understand that no matter the size of the company or how successful the individual, no one knows everything. Embrace that fact and take that chance. Q: What is your favorite part about being a small business owner? A: The people. Without a doubt, the people I have met, the people I work with and the people we work for are some of the greatest people I have ever been introduced to. From clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors and real estate professionals to each of our employees. The people are the best part of starting Duffek Construction.
