What a difference a year makes. At this time last year, COVID-19 was spiking in Wisconsin and the rest of the nation. The Alliance offices were closed to the public. Staff returned only on a limited basis, wearing face coverings to protect one another. All meetings and programs were occurring on virtual platforms. There was a lot to navigate. Limits on gatherings. Mask mandates. Uncertainty over the reopening of schools and keeping them open. Supply chain disruptions. Workforce shortages. A Presidential election year. A mob overrunning the U.S. Capitol. The continuing aftermath of the George Floyd tragedy. Closer to home, shootings and civil unrest in Kenosha. Seemingly one gut punch after another. But our team rose above it all. We persevered and stayed positive. We approached each day with resilience, flexibility and a smile for one another that a mask couldn’t hide. And while I could not be more proud of our team, I am deeply grateful for the dedication of our members to support the Alliance's mission.
