millions of face shields and other critical supplies for frontline workers both locally and across the country. More promising news for the manufacturing industry can be seen in the example of Macromatic Industrial Controls, which broke ground in July for a new 17,000-square-foot facility in Waukesha. The 45-year-old company designs and manufactures industrial control and monitoring products used in water/waste water, pump and motor control, irrigation, oil and gas and more. Appearing on the Milwaukee Business Journal’s 2018 and 2019 Fastest Growing Firms list, Macromatic is focused on executing a business plan and strategy aimed to triple the size of the company in seven years. New product development focused on “smart” products will implement Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) technology to allow customers to be more proactive, efficient and profitable. “Moving into our new facility in February of 2021 is an instrumental piece of our overall growth strategy,” said Steve Sundlov, president of Macromatic. “We are laser focused on improving our customer value propositions, which ultimately translates into new product development. Being able to add new product work cells and simultaneously improve our production process flow for efficiency required a new facility. The result is a 50 percent increase in manufacturing space with the ability to easily add another 8,000 square feet.” As with every industry, manufacturing CEOs are facing uncertainty and continue to worry about economic collapse and disruption. However, in the face of what now feels like a constant level of change we’re all learning to live with, Waukesha County is well poised for its strong manufacturing base to continue operating, growing and leading the way as we move into recovery. • OCTOBER 2020 MAGAZINE 21 LOCAL ROOTS: WAUKESHA COUNTY’S BANK FOR BUSINESS As your local bank, we’re proud to serve this area: the people, businesses, and organizations that actively work to make our county the best it can be.
