2021 Policy Agenda

The Waukesha County Business Alliance provides a clear and persuasive voice for the business community by advocating for business-friendly legislation at local, state and federal levels. In many ways, 2020 radically changed the world and the business world. Our 2021 policy priorities include those we feel are critical to facilitate a positive economic recovery in response to the pandemic. As a chamber of commerce, we believe it is vital to advance economic inclusion through business leadership. The Alliance has joined more than 500 state and local chambers across the country to endorse the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Equality of Opportunity Initiative. We support advancing private sector solutions and best practices, scaling successful programs and advocating for policies that drive economic growth for all employers and all employees. We also believe that now, more than ever, it is imperative we focus on the core priorities that have long made Waukesha County a great place to do business. We must continue to drive economic development, provide workforce solutions and make Waukesha County and Southeastern Wisconsin the best place to do business. Here are our 2021 areas of focus: • Economic Development. Promote economic development in Waukesha County with local, state and federal policies that support business growth and allow Wisconsin to remain competitive. • Workforce Development. Develop, identify and support policy solutions that strengthen the talent pipeline. • Education. Support students in being college and career ready and help families and educators understand job opportunities in the marketplace today and in the future. • Infrastructure.
