Hometown: Waukesha, WI If you could tell someone why it’s important to be involved in the community in one sentence, what would you say? Being involved in your community not only improves the lives of members of the community and strengthens the community as a whole, it also enriches your life and provides a sense of tremendous accomplishment. In your opinion, what makes a great leader? Being a great leader requires the ability to make the difficult decisions that are required to advance your organization, while at the same time balancing the needs and motivations of the entire team. Great leaders earn the respect of their teams through their ability to advance the organization without losing focus on, and empathizing with, the people that are required for the success of the organization. Favorite movie or book: At the moment, by virtue of my daughters’mandate, Frozen 2. Absent that, Field of Dreams. Something unique about you: While obtaining my undergraduate degree at the University of Missouri, I was a member of a very unique, and somewhat notorious, student fan group called The Antlers. What was your first job? Mack’s Frozen Custard in Waukesha. Hometown: Brown Deer, WI If you could tell someone why it’s important to be involved in the community in one sentence, what would you say? It’s important to give back to the community because it helps those in need, it makes a difference in others’ lives and lets you use your skills in a positive way to make an impact. In your opinion, what makes a great leader? A great leader communicates effectively, is an active listener, is comfortable with being vulnerable, and accountable at all times. Favorite movie or book: The Notebook. Something unique about you: I love to clean, it’s therapeutic for me after a long day at work. What was your first job? My first job was an Administrative Assistant role at a small company. 20
