Describe your company. The School District of Elmbrook is a top-tier public school district that serves over 7,400 students and families in Brookfield, New Berlin and Elm Grove. What is your role? I clear obstacles and overcome challenges so that staff and students can make dreams come true. In addition, I infuse hope and optimism into an organization serving our most cherished gift, children. What has been your organization's biggest challenge? Opening the school year so that we honor those that want in person instruction while also having options for those that can't be in person for teaching and learning. What is the most important lesson you’ve learned in your career? Deeply listen and authentically care for others. What is your personal key to success? Constantly learning. What’s the first job you ever had? Petroleum Engineer at Ralph's Amoco in Oconomowoc. I pumped gas for folks who wanted full service gas fill up. What is your dream job? Superintendent. I have been going to school for 46 years now and get to see magic happen every single day in classrooms. What book are you currently reading or would you recommend? "Dream Big" by Bob Goff. What is something unique about you? Back in my younger years I was an avid soccer player. Way too old now and my body takes days to recover! What is your favorite pastime? I have more than one here: spending time with my family, enjoying the outdoors, and being a ferocious reader. • DR.
